It is used in people who do not get enough vitamin B12 from their diet or when their digestive tract does not absorb enough. Vitamin B12 plays an important role in maintaining the health of your nervous system and red blood cells.

This medication is injected into a muscle or deeply under the skin. It is usually given in a clinic or care team's office. However, your care team may teach you how to inject yourself. Follow all instructions.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

If you are given your dose at a clinic or care team's office, call to reschedule your appointment. If you give your own injections, and you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
